Five blasts were reported in Gowahati and six in other parts of the state.Over 40 people were killed and more than 200 injured on Thursday in 13 serial bomb blasts triggered by suspected ULFA and HUJI militants in crowded areas of lower Assam, including capital Guwahati.
The bombs went off simultaneously at around 11.30 AM mostly in markets of Kamrup, Kokrajhar, Bongaigaon and Barpeta districts, official sources said.
In Guwahati's Kamrup area, a bomb exploded in Ganeshguri-Dispur near the high-security capital complex housing the Assembly building, another in front of the district's Deputy Commissioner's office, the third at Paltan Bazar and the fourth at Fancy Bazar, the sources said.

Thick smoke billowed after the high intensity blasts which turned a number of cars, two wheelers and cycles into mangled heaps of metal.
Another explosion hit Paltan Bazar in Guwahati. Accusing the police of reaching the blast sites late, angry people in the Ganeshguri tried to torch a fire tender.
